Obituary for Addam Shepherd

Addam R. Shepherd, age 76 and a resident of Warsaw, died on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center at 2:35 a.m.

Addam was born on December 17, 1942 in Warsaw and was the son of the late Albert and Hettie (Meade) Shepherd. He served in the US Army for 18 years with service during Vietnam, ultimately earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his military service, Addam became a member of the American Legion Post 258, Pierceton.

In civilian life, he had worked for Kimball Glass, then, Zimmer Orthopaedics, before retiring in 1998.
Addam loved fishing and auto racing; especially NASCAR and dirt tracks. He could often be found at Warsaw Speedway and other regional tracks throughout the Midwest. As a fisherman, Addam simply loved being outside and cared little if he caught anything or not.

On March 18, 1977, Addam was married to Tammy Nagler. The two shared more than forty years together before her passing on July 3, 2018. Surviving are their children, Susan Shepherd of Westminster, MD and Fred (Mariana) Shepherd of Fairfax, VA; grandson, Sean Shepherd; brother, Joe Shepherd (Mike Barker) of Wichita,KS and sisters, Ruby (Johnnie) Tackett of Tippecanoe, IN, and Lillie Mae Bachtel of White Pigeon, MI. In addition to his wife, those who preceded Addam in passing include brothers: Willie Shepherd and Warren Shepherd and sisters: Dorothy Lambert, Sarah Pennington and Barbara Shepherd.

Friends may gather at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw on Saturday, August 17th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Presiding over the 1 o’clock funeral is Bishop Kellen Zollinger; brother Art Haas will be assisting. Burial with military graveside honors will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
