Obituary for Gladys Slabaugh Riley
Gladys Riley, age 74 and a lifetime resident of the Etna Green area, passed away unexpectedly at 10:10 p.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital on Wednesday, August 7th.
The daughter of Harry W. Slabaugh and Virginia K. (Gray) Slabaugh, Gladys was a graduate of Etna Green High School. In fact, she was valedictorian of the class in 1962 and went on to earn a degree in nursing in 1972.
Gladys was a private person with a natural care giving gift. She worked for many years as an OB nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital, Plymouth and for several years with Bowen Center. Gladys is survived by several dear friends, an incredible church family and by the many lives she touched in her years of nursing. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Marlin Slabaugh.
Private burial will be held at Etna Green Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3191 West 200 South Warsaw, on Saturday, August 24th at 2 p.m.
