Obituary for Karen L. Moudy

Karen Lynn Moudy, age 55 of Leesburg, heard Heaven's call on January 5, 2019 and left this earth at 10:10 p.m. from Fort Wayne's Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.

Born to Thomas and Norma J. (Dinger) Kovalenko, Karen was born in Lakewood, Ohio. She was one of three children raised in the family home and was united in marriage to Clayton Moudy on August 10, 2007 on the water at Lake Tippecanoe.

Karen had earned an associate degree in accounting from Davenport University, working for many years under a CPA. Most recently she was working for Safeway Door in Warsaw. She was a substitute teacher for Wawasee Community Schools.

Karen, known to young relatives as "Kare Bear," was a beautiful, colorful, and family oriented woman of substance. She loved her life by Lake Tippy and being with her husband and her children. Her passions included a love for animals, gardening and music. She delighted those who knew her with her sharp wit and creative pursuits. She was incredibly artistic and enjoyed needlepoint and quilting, among many other crafts.

Karen is survived by her husband of 11 years, Clayton Moudy of Leesburg; two daughters, Madelyn and Aubrey Moudy both of Leesburg; son, John Moudy of Leesburg; brother, Jeff (wife, Donna) Kovalenko of Middlebury and sister, Nicolette (husband, Matthew) Andert of Elkhart. Additionally, Karen was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Samuel Kovalenko.

Friends may gather with family at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 135 North Harrison Street in Warsaw, on Saturday, January 26th from 10 to 11 a.m. Beginning at 11 o'clock, Father Jonathan Norton will celebrate a memorial mass.

Those wishing to express sympathy are encouraged to consider a memorial gift to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home or toward the Moudy children's college fund. Online condolences may be left at www.TitusFuneralHome.com
