Obituary

Marlene Joyce Schaiper Marsh Crump, 82 of Greenwood and a previous long-time resident of Winona
Lake, IN, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 21, 2019 after an extended illness.
She was born January 19, 1937 in Peoria, Illinois, to the late Russell and Lillian Merkel Schaiper. She
graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Bryan College, Dayton, TN.

Marlene was a gifted writer of stories for publication and personal enjoyment; she enjoyed oil painting,
needlework, and travel. She played the violin for a short time and played golf and tennis recreationally
throughout her life. She was an active church member from her teen years on, prominently at Fellowship
Baptist in Warsaw, IN, and most recently at Town Center Church in Mooresville, IN. She taught school in
Indiana & Ohio and worked as an editor and proofreader. Her sweet spirit and ease with people were a
blessing to all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren fondly remember her as nurturing,
supportive, and fun.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Crump, Indianapolis; sister, Delores Smith, Avon; three children—
David Marsh (Cynthia), Danville; Anne Nelson (Christopher), Indianapolis; Stephen Marsh (Sarah),
Winona Lake; six step-children—Cathy Smith St. Louis, MO; David Crump, Anderson; Connie Jung
( Michael ), Fishers; John Crump (Michelle) Mooresville; Christy Tapp (Christopher) Indianapolis; Paul
Crump, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Robert Marsh.

First visitation is scheduled on Monday, February 25, 2019 from Noon to 3 p.m. and will be followed by a
memorial service at 3 p.m. in Meridian Church of God, 7800 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46217.
Marlene’s step-son John Crump will be officiating.

Second visitation is scheduled on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 11 to 1 p.m. and will be followed by a
brief service at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, IN 46580. Burial will be in Warsaw’s
Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Layne Sumner of Fellowship Baptist officiating.

The family would ask for memorial donations to Bryan College School of Education with envelopes
available at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.TitusFuneralHome.com

I am so very sorry for your loss. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Crump but she certainly appeared to have lived a spirit filled, generous life. My family is praying for yours. Praying that God will bring you continued peace during this difficult time. I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven, has been made whole again and is right now praising the Lord.

Anne, David, and Stephen - we go way back. Loved your mom. We shared so many good memories together. How could we not since we did the baby thing at the same time? She made no qualms about her love for the Lord and was/is an example of what it is to live for the Lord. Yes, we will miss her but she was a faithful servant of the Lord she loved and now she is in His presence. What a blessed time for her. I will be praying for you during this difficult time but rejoicing with you because now she is set free. Love you all. Hugs, Charlotte and David
